WHAT IS
IT?
The purpose of the Physiological Assessment is to collect a set of relevant data and metrics about the athlete's current physical condition, namely the capacity and potential for development of the metabolic systems. It is an essential tool to guide the entire Coaching process.

01
HOW IS IT
DoNE?
BODY COMPOSITION
The Muscle Perimeters and 9 Skinfolds are measured, thus making it possible to estimate the Percentages of Fat Mass and Lean Mass. A projection is also created for a given time-frame, for potential optimization of these parameters.
02
RAMP TEST
The first protocol is a continuous ramp effort, comprised of 10 minutes steps, with 0.25W/Kg increments in between. A blood sample at rest is collected to assess the base lactate value in the bloodstream. At the end of each step, blood samples are collected, until the first inflection point in the lactate curve is reached, thus determining the Aerobic Threshold – LT.
03
ALL-OUT EFFORTS
After returning to the resting state, five maximum intensity efforts are performed, for a given duration. Between each effort, recovery is intended to be complete, so that the next one is not compromised by the previous ones. The first effort comprises a Maximum Sprint of 10 to 15 seconds. The remaining are 1, 5, 10 and 20 minutes efforts, respectively.
04
FINAL REPORT
Metrics such as Maximum Power – PMAX – Functional Reserve Capacity – FRC – Glycolytic Capacity, Maximum Aerobic Capacity – VO2 MAX – Anaerobic Threshold/Critical Power – FTP/CP – Time to Exhaustion – TTE – Aerobic Threshold – LT – etc. are determined. The athlete's Metabolic and Physiological Profile is established, and the training zones are defined based on these parameters.
05
COACHING
Through systematically and periodically applying this methodology, it is possible to monitor the progression and development of the aforementioned metrics, thus serving as a platform to conduct the most appropriate Training Periodization, Prescription and Monitoring to the individual needs and competitive goals.
